The Chinese Corner Celebrates Multicultural Day on Thursday, April 26th

As a part of Seton Hall’s annual Multicultural Day celebration on Thursday, April 26th The Chinese Corner will be hosting a food tasting and Calligraphy-Paper Folding event!

This is a free event, all are welcome to attend!

Library Chinese Corner Seminar: Classroom Management in K-12 Chinese Language Classes

As a part of Chinese New Year celebration, Library Chinese Corner will present a seminar on classroom management in K-12 Chinese language classes.

The seminar will take place in the Common Room of Walsh Library on Friday, February 23, 2018, 5:30-7:30 pm.

Three experienced teachers have been invited to speak:

  1. Qingqing Lan on finding things to appreciate
  2. Liping Meng on using discipline, engagement, and encouragement
  3. Xiao-Qin Li on making lessons interesting.

Please come for pizza, fellowship, and receiving a recognition certificate of professional development! Everyone is welcome!

Chinese Speech Competition 2017

Liuqing Yang, Chinese Corner Project Assistant, has created a video clip of the recent Chinese Speech Competition held by Asian Studies Program at Seton Hall University on April 20, 2017.

Thirty-eight students took part in the competition from beginner to advanced levels. Every speech had its own characterisitcs. Prof. Dongdong Chen, Department Chair of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, and Prof. Jeffrey Rice of Chinese Literature and Civilization and Director of Asian Studies, gave supportive remarks to the students. Everyone enjoyed the competition.
