i. Faculty Guide amendment language.

ii. Proposed amendment to the Lecturer Line Proposal:

In departments with 12 or more full time faculty the total number of faculty associate and lecturer appointments may not exceed one third of the total full time faculty. In departments with fewer than 12 full time faculty, the number of faculty associates and lecturers shall not exceed the fewer of 3 or 1/3 of the full time faculty members.

iii. Memo to Senators regarding the proposed amendment.

iv. A motion to suspend the by-laws in order to approve the revised Lecturer Line without a first reading [If the amendment is approved].

c. Motion: If the proposal for a Medical School is approved by the University’s Board of Regents, the Senate urges and expects that additional resources will be made available to the academic units on the South Orange campus to accommodate potential increases in the number and quality of students and student preferences for majors and programs.
