Strategic Plan

From The Office of the Provost:

I am pleased to announce to the Seton Hall community that the Board of Regents, at its December 2011 meeting, approved Seton Hall’s new Strategic Plan, “from Strength to Strength.” Given the continuing economic conditions facing Seton Hall and other Universities, and the many transitions we have experienced in the past few years, this plan was reviewed with particular deliberation. It articulates Seton Hall’s ambitions for itself and our anticipations of the state and status of the University by the year 2020. Since the time when President Esteban formed and charged a Strategic Plan Steering Committee, the creativity and dedication of hundreds of students, faculty, administrators, alumni, staff, Board members and Friends of the University have contributed to the shape and tenor of the Plan.

The Plan is both a framework for and a standard for our efforts. I have charged Seton Hall’s Assessment Steering Committee with preparing an assessment structure for the Strategic Plan that will facilitate regular updates. We have also created the Strategic Plan website: http://www.shu.edu/offices/provost/strategic-plan/ which will be supplemented regularly.

I will also be communicating with you about the preparations for Seton Hall’s decennial Self-Study for Middle States accreditation, which has commenced in anticipation of the 2014 visit to our campus by an accrediting team. The Strategic Plan and the Self-Study will develop together and our efforts and commitment to our Plan are likely to be of keen interest to our colleagues at Middle States.
