San Francisco College for Women (Lone Mountain): Rare Book Room: This postcard pictures an interior view of the College library’s rare book room.  Excerpt from the message: “This gives a good idea of the cases Reverend Mother designed and had made for housing our rare manuscripts. We have six of them. The carved wood doors fold back over the drawers which are not visible there. On top are also rare manuscripts. The walls & ceiling are in silver metal leaf, stenciled (the walls) with robin’s egg blue. The rug (a gift) is a real Aubusson tapestry rug—pastel shades.”
