On April 3, around 8a.m. local time, Taiwan was rocked by a 7.4 magnitude earthquake, the strongest quake to hit the island in 25 years. The earthquake which struck just offshore the rural county of Hualien, according to Reuters, triggered landslides and more than 50 aftershocks.
