CFP: The SHE WILL Faculty Learning Community

“Communication and Collaboration”

Sep 2022 – May 2023

The Center for Faculty Development is announcing the AY2022-23 call for participation in the Seton Hall Elevating Women in Learning and Leadership (SHE WILL) program. SHE WILL is a mentoring program and learning community for faculty to enhance leadership skills in academia. The program consists of a series of monthly workshops, each led by an expert speaker on a variety of topics pertaining to this year’s theme. These workshops will be interactive, often with guided discussions that are made possible through an environment created by a commitment of participants to respect and support each other. In line with a mutual mentoring model where participants are active leaders in the program, we have invited a mixture of outside speakers with Seton Hall faculty, including our own members, on topics such as:

  • Setting boundaries: When and how to say no
  • Difficult conversations
  • Research collaborators: How to find them, choose them, and sustain them
  • Networking and self-promotion

Workshops will be held either remotely or in person on approximately one Thursday/month from 1pm-2:30pm beginning in September, with additional sessions in September and May (Networking Luncheon). The first meeting (Introduction to the Program) will be held in person on September 8, 2022. All faculty are welcome to participate.
