Jersey City Public Schools are currently we are seeking candidates in the following areas:

-English as a second language (ESL)

All candidates must be on their way to securing the necessary requirements for becoming a teacher in New Jersey, below are some of those required items:

  • Official transcripts showing proof of bachelor’s degree.
  • Proof of successful completion of their teaching program.
  • Completed application for teaching certification.
  • Passing scores on the required examinations.

Newark Board of Education Virtual Educator Job Interviews!

The Newark Board of Education will be holding three Virtual Educator Interview Days during the month of April. Register using the link below for one or all of the following dates:

  • Wednesday, April 22, 2020, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Thursday, April 23, 2020, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 25, 2020, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

The deadline to register is Friday, April 17, 2020, at 5:00 pm. Be sure to register today!

If candidates registered for the Newark BOE cancelled Spring Educator Job Fair, they will need to register again. Different information is required for this registration. Candidates who do not register will not be scheduled for an interview.

How to Prepare:

  1. Upload your most updated RESUME when registering. Principals will use this to select who they would like to interview. In addition, be prepared to share your resume virtually in the interview, as you will have the opportunity to upload and share this document through the interview platform.
  2. Be prepared with 1-2 questions you want to ask the principal or school representative.
  3. Know your availability for the next two weeks. Principals may invite candidates for virtual demo lessons or additional interviews.

 

***Please note that Newark BOE will be scheduling interviews based on the vacancies in their schools and may not be able to schedule all candidates. If you are scheduled, you will be contacted with further information regarding how to access the interview.

The California Center on Teaching Careers (The Center), californiateach.org, is extending the invitation to SHU alumni and current students who might be interested in exploring a career in teaching in California through VIRTUAL career fairs. Teacher candidates can join the event from a laptop, tablet, or mobile device and connect with teacher preparation representatives and/or school district administrators to chat or simply browse. No traveling required!

 

The Job Fair will take place on March 5, 2020 and will run from 4:00pm – 6:00pm, PST.

 

To attend this event, teacher candidates register online. Registration instructions and information is attached or simply click here https://thecentervirtualevents.vfairs.com/.  We recommend all candidates upload a current resume. Registration information should reflect your teaching interest and the California regions you are interested in teaching. The Virtual Fair platform will match candidates to agencies using information provided by candidates!

The Fresh Air Fund is hosting a Summer Camp Job Fair on Saturday, March 14 in their Manhattan office!

The Fresh Air Fund is hosting a Summer Camp Job Fair on Saturday, March 14 in their Manhattan office!

The Fresh Air Fund is a non-profit organization that provides free summer programs to New York City youth from underserved communities. They hire over 500 seasonal staff from around the world to work at one of their six sleepaway camps located in Upstate New York. They are recruiting students to work as Camp Counselors, Lifeguards, Leadership & Administrative Staff and Program Instructors for activities such as music, drama, dance, STEM, creative writing and more! All of the positions are paid and include room and board. Internship credit is available as well.
