Club Spotlight: Pinky Swear Pack

Pinky Swear Pack is a nationwide organization of students that helps spread the message of the Pinky Swear Foundation. Recognized as a club at SHU, Pinky Swear Pack meets biweekly on Mondays at 6pm to put the ‘fun’ in fundraiser and bring awareness on campus for the cause that they support, which is raising money for childhood cancer patients and their families.

It’s not often that I would look towards a freshman as someone who embodies a shining and involved student at Seton Hall, but Payton Costenbader is a special case. The type of involvement that Payton has on campus is comparable to peers that are years older than her. Payton is involved as a frequent writer in the Stillman Exchange, a member of the Accounting Club, member of Women in Business, and a certified peer educator for Dare to Care.

Roundtables in Accounting Recap

The Accounting Club is an on-campus organization that promotes networking skills and opportunity discovery. Though this club is directed towards freshman and sophomore accounting majors, anybody who would like to sit in on a presentation, practice networking skills or broaden their involvement on their resume is welcome to join. Tuesday, January 30th, the Accounting Club hosted their largest event of the year in collaboration with The Career Center.

Erin, who is a senior that is double majoring in Accounting and Information Technology, has been able to make great use of her time here at Seton Hall. Erin is able to balance the workload of a double major, while also being heavily involved on campus and active in giving back to the Seton Hall community.

Generative AI and Higher Education – The Impact that AI could have at Seton Hall

On November 2nd, there was an Impact Talk hosted in Bethany Hall titled “Generative AI and Higher Education. The keynote speaker of the event was Dr. Jason Gulya, who is a professor at Berkeley College and the chair of the Artificial Intelligence council. There was also a panel of Seton Hall faculty and students to discuss the topic of AI as well, and express their beliefs on how they believe AI should or should not be implemented on campus.

On Halloween night, the Association of Supply Chain Management’s Seton Hall student chapter hosted Patrick Healy, head of World Wide Strategic Sourcing for Snap-On Incorporated. Snap-On is a leading global innovator, manufacturer, and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users performing critical tasks including those working in vehicle repair, aerospace, the military, natural resources, and manufacturing. Healy first discussed the history of Snap-On and their position in the tool manufacturing market.
