Pirates on the Pitch: History, captured on Twitter

Following their 2-1 win over Georgetown on Saturday, the Seton Hall Pirates have captured their first Big East Tournament championship since 1991, and will be returning to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005. Not only were the eyes of Pirate fans on the team during the Saturday matinee match, but the eyes of social media were following as well.

Seton Hall erupted to an early 1-0 lead in the fifteenth minute, when Camil Koreichi drove the ball in.

At the 33 minute mark, Georgetown, the reigning NCAA champions struck even with a ball off of the foot of Zach Riviere to tie the game at 1-1.

The game would remain knotted at one until CJ Tibling struck the goal for Seton Hall that would serve as an exclamation point for this historic season.

The Pirates would never look back from their 2-1 lead, and when the buzzer rang, they clinched an appearance in the NCAA tournament.

The Pirates will now wait to see who they take on in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
