Assistant Coaches Still Got Game

Entering her second season, Kayla Lombardo is an assistant coach for the LeHigh softball team. She had an exceptional career playing softball before becoming a coach, after graduating from Fordham University.

A New Jersey native, Lombardo graduated from Fordham University in 2015 as magna cum laude with a degree in Communications and Media Studies with a concentration in Journalism. She was honored in all four of her seasons in the Atlantic 10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and was a part of three Atlantic 10 Conference tournament championship teams.

In Lombardo’s career playing for the Rams, she played a total of 191 games. She played third base her first three seasons and she switched to catcher her last season as a senior. In each of her final three seasons, Fordham reached the NCAA tournament, as well as a regional final appearance in 2015. Lombardo is a two-time first-team All-Atlantic 10 performer as well as a two-time third-team NFCA ALL-Region Selection during her career at Fordham. Some of Lombardo’s stats include:

Before joining the LeHigh coaching staff, she worked for two years as a sports journalist for Sports Illustrated. After this she worked forĀ Excelle Sports.
