Administration Updates/Discussion Points

-Dean Bartoli on Leadership Transition of Organizations

-School of Diplomacy working closely with Stillman Leadership Position, best way to prepare for future of the School is to take leadership experience seriously

-Leadership cannot be taught just in a course, needs experience

-Dean Bartoli suggesting initiative for leadership training classes, run student organizations as professional organizations with skills applicable to jobs and internships

-Leadership transitions crucial in this

-The Diplomatic Envoy starting transition preparation early, with new leaders and current leaders working side by side to train

-Dean Sanjamino and Kyle Younger on RSVPing: People will RSVP for Diplomacy School events and then not show up, defeats purpose of leadership development at the school, please be cognizant about this! Send an email if you cannot make it, tell this problem to your peers, also shows support for the event

-Pope Francis’ Diplomacy Event, March 1st: Archbishop of Newark is boss of Seton Hall, his first public event on campus, very important for him to see the School of Diplomacy, dinner is open to students

-No Lost Generation Penny War: Stay tuned for announcement

-New German Club elected! Mark McGuire President, dancing event on Thursday in Beck Rooms 6:30, cosponsored by Slavic Club

-UDSA planning a town hall event for Diplomacy Senate candidates, students running this year will meet other students, will be confirmed next week when candidate list becomes public, Noelle Sorich will be moderating

-Women for Women International having event in April, Professor Alam will be speaking about how women affect workforce

-6:30 March 28, Arabic Speaking Club having Translation Without Borders fundraising Dinner, representative from TWB from there in Chancellor’s Suite

-Professor Yacoubi’s trip to Morocco and Granada, students wanting more Arabic involvement

-UNA-SHU& Women of Diplomacy: March 24 5-7, Persistence With Power: Donna Rosa UNA chapter Presient of north Jersey will be there

-President of Gen Assembly Peter Thompson from Fiji will be coming to speak, prefers interactive venues very engaging

-Professionalism within Diplomacy School: main goal is to focus on identifying important skills and how to best train for them
