a. Motion: The Faculty Senate accepts the Provost’s suggested amendment to the changes to the Human Resources Provisions in the Faculty Guide that were approved by the Senate in December 2014.

i. Motion Regarding SA/NA grades:

The APC endorses the creation of a new “N/SA” grade, defined as “no basis for grading/stopped attending,” to be added to the grading scheme to allow faculty members to indicate if a student stopped attending at some point during the semester but without completion of enough work to assign a semester grade. The previously approved “F/SA” (failure/stopped attending) and “NA” (never attended) grades remain unchanged. The Executive Committee and the administration shall work together to develop the catalog language for these grades. This change shall be effective starting fall 2015.

i. Motion: Second reading of the proposed changes to delete “at least” in Article 5.4 (b)

a.         The University Rank and Tenure Committee shall consist of eleven (11) tenured faculty members holding the rank of professor.  Each of the constituent schools of the university  in which tenure is granted must be represented on the committee and at least three (3) of its members shall hold tenured rank in the College of Arts and Sciences, two (2) of its members shall hold tenured rank in the W. Paul Stillman School of Business, and two (2) of its members shall hold tenured rank in the College of Education and Human Services.

i. Rationale: With the School of Communication and the Arts, A&S, Stillman and Education would no longer have a possibility of more than the number of members noted.
