Diplomacy Clubs – Taylor
UDSA is attempting to start up again. Its primary focus will be on facilitating all Diplomacy-related clubs (an umbrella organization for all clubs) and being a forum for all Diplomacy students.
Some ideas include bringing students to Washington, D.C., and increasing communication between clubs.
Alongside Heather Kwityn, Taylor plans to start a shared google calendar to advertise events on campus.
Dean Bartoli suggested that Taylor and Heather collaborate with Dylan and the rest of the communication integration team (that plans to start up soon).
Gwen added that Diplomacy clubs could post events on the university calendar
On that note, Dean Bartoli suggested that there should be a review of all Diplomacy clubs. He proposed that a transition plan for clubs should be created.
Events Review – Dylan
Two events in the past week:
Samantha Power, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations
Roger Dow, CEO and President at the U.S. Travel Association
Savi (Roger Dow event):
Enjoyed the event and was happy that the room was completely full
Liked how Roger Dow was able to talk about diplomacy and how it is related to his career
Thought cross-promoting was awesome
Taylor (Amb. Samantha Power event)
Found it incredibly impressive that the event was put together on such short notice
Also liked how the event attracted non-Diplomacy students
Avonelle (Amb. Samantha Power event):
Loved how the event was also used as a teaching moment by professors
Tricia (Amb. Samantha Power event):
Was impressed by advertising
Gwen mentioned that she will be sharing the analytics about how many people attended both events in the near future
Karina (Amb. Samantha Power event)
Noted that Samantha Power needed a chair (even though she had requested not to have one)
Was also happy that students represented the school well
*Reminder for students who helped out with the Amb. Power event:
1. Fill out the doodle for the party!
2. Fill out the survey!
