In Teams and University Center, Rm. 206
Moderated by: Nicholas H. Snow, Founding Endowed Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry
Senior faculty and administrators will provide tips and suggestions to help faculty at all levels navigate the tenure and promotion process. We will offer key points of advice for non-tenure track faculty seeking a tenure track position, for untenured faculty seeking tenure, for tenured faculty seeking promotion and for senior faculty looking to make a difference. We will provide a high-level view of the reasons for tenure and structure of the rank and tenure process. We will discuss key points that make for both strong and weak cases for promotion, the role of the faculty evaluation process, and how senior faculty and administrators can assist junior colleagues along their career path. The format will be very informal with ample time for questions and discussion.
