Friday November 18: 10:00 a.m.

In the Learning Studio (Walsh Library, Lower Level) and in Zoom

Speaker: Petra Chu, Professor Emeritus of Art History

On October 20, a new exhibition opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, “Cubism and the Trompe L’Oeil Tradition.” According to the museum’s website, it “will offer a radically new view of Cubism by demonstrating its engagement with the age-old tradition of trompe l’oeil painting.” Petra Chu will present an introduction to the exhib, explaining its concept and discussing some of the works on view. Her slide-illustrated lecture will be presented in person in the Learning Studio in the Walsh Library. It will also be broadcast in Zoom.  Please contact Peter Ahr if you plan to attend in person (peter.ahr@shu.edu).
