Social Media for Faculty

Monday, April 24
12:30-1:30pm
Faculty Lounge, University Center
This panel presentation and workshop will center on enhancing social media skills for faculty members, primarily via Twitter and LinkedIn. These are increasingly becoming platforms for thought leadership and wide-scale dissemination of work and findings, as well as giving faculty the ability to start conversations with potential collaborators, the press, and funders.  Who should attend? Scholars who want to connect with the media and/or foundation leadership.

Presenters:
§  Robert Kelchen, Assistant Professor, College of Education and Human Services (who was named as an “indispensable academic Twitter account” by the Chronicle of Higher Education), @rkelchen
§  Lily Cabrera, Senior Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations, University Advancement
§  Laurie Pine, Director, Media Relations, University Advancement
§  Michael Hyland, Director, Web and Digital Communications (Seton Hall’s resident social media guru!)

Lunch will be served
This event is sponsored by the Center for Faculty Development and Corporate and Foundation Relations
