Three Minute leadership: On Being Unusual

Philip Humbert, author and motivational speaker, wrote:  “One of the paradoxes of life is that being ‘reasonable’ often means settling for ordinary results, while success usually requires us to step outside our normal routines, be different and, sometimes, uncomfortable. Highly successful people are, by definition, unusual people.”

This is the joy of great leadership: daring to challenge the status quo, seeing the world not as it is, but as it could be; pushing all boundaries in relentless pursuit of something greater that lies hidden within ourselves. This greatness will be discovered in being more.  Oscar Wilde,  Irish writer and poet, wrote: “’Know Thyself’ was written over the portal of the antique world. Over the portal of the new world, ‘Be Thyself’ shall be written.”

On your magnificent journey remember always Socrates’ gentle words: “Let him who would move the world first move himself.”  There is only one, beautiful magnificent you. You are unique in all the universe.  You are one of the world’s most unusual people – extraordinary in your special gifts no one else possess.  You are someone who can and will change the world.  Live your life with magical exuberance and joy. And have fun doing it.

Have a beautiful day and a magnificent week!!!
