Seton Hall Club Ice Hockey Wants Rams, Think Pats Will Win

Super Bowl LIII is finally here. The competitors include one team that’s been in this position many times before, and one team with a head coach who was in high school when his opposing head coach won his first Super Bowl with his team. If you didn’t already know, the former is the all too familiar New England Patriots, and the ladder; the Los Angeles Rams.

Who will win? What will be the difference in the game? Will Tom Brady win his 6th ring or will Sean McVay win at the age of 32?

Hall Pass’s own Beuk Forrest sat down to poll his club Ice Hockey team here at Seton Hall to look for some predictions. This from Beuk:

The biggest sports day in the United States is here. Super Bowl LIII. And that means Super Bowl parties all around the country and all around college campuses. We have many at Seton Hall, including the Seton Hall Club Ice Hockey party. I wanted to sit down prior to our watch party and poll the team to get some predictions. I asked a series of five questions, and wrote down the answers. Here are the five questions:

  1. Who are you rooting for in the Super Bowl?
  2. Who do you think is going to win?
  3. Why do you think that team will win?
  4. What team do you root for?
  5. Do you follow football not closely, moderately, or closely?

To start, everyone but two voters claim that they follow football moderately or closely, so these votes carry some weight. The results are very interesting, and mostly similar across the board. Everyone but two think that the Patriots will be victorious on Sunday and that Tom Brady will capture his 6th ring. We even have a Los Angeles Rams fan from Los Angeles himself that thinks the Patriots will come out on top on Sunday. Now that’s saying something.

Moving on to the next result. Two-thirds of the team’s voters are rooting for the Rams to win, but think the Patriots will win. This shows how much people dislike the Patriots, but still respect what the franchise has accomplished in the last two decades.

Speaking of respecting what the patriots have done, four-fifths of the voters cited either the experience of the team or the Brady/Belichick partnership as the reasoning to question #3. I think this is the main reason I hear around campus or even when I talk to people at work. The experience factor and the Brady/Belichick tandem seem to be the overriding reason in most people’s choice for the Super Bowl victor. To be honest, who can blame these people? The Patriots are a dynasty and seem to either be in the Super Bowl or at least the AFC championship game each and every season. Like them or hate them, they’re pretty damn good. Period.

Who knows what will happen Sunday? What is certain is that it will be a great game and now you know the predictions of the Seton Hall Club Ice Hockey team. Check out the rest of campus’s predictions on our Hall Pass website, as well as any other Super Bowl articles you find pleasure in. Until next time, enjoy Super Bowl Sunday.

Beuk’s Prediction- Patriots come from behind in the fourth quarter to win. Why? Because they’re pretty damn good. Period.
