Session II – Dr. Joseph Martinelli

Dr. Joseph Martinelli is currently the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs for the College of Education and Human Services, and has over 26 years of higher education experience both as an administrator and faculty member. During his 10 years at Seton Hall University, Dr. Martinelli has taught the following courses: Current Issues in Education, Computer Fundamentals, Web Page Technologies, Web Graphics, Integrating Technology into the Curriculum, Instructional Design, Multimedia Technologies and Production I, II and III, Journey of Transformation. His professional research interests: include iPad and Tablet Devices in education, developing online learning modules, integrating Web 2.0 Tools into the education curriculum, creating ,multimedia rich lessons, using technology tools to create learning agents (avatars) to improve the delivery and understanding of electronic based lessons, effective use of POD Casting in educational environments, electronic portfolios, and digital storytelling and Web 2.0 educational applications and uses.

Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member at Seton Hall, Dr. Martinelli spent 15 years as a Public Relations specialist at William Paterson University where he performed the following public relations duties: promotions, design of media guides and presentation packages, issued press releases, designed multimedia presentation packages, produced informational videos, served as spokesperson, maintained Web Site. He also received several writing awards both for feature stories and web design.
