University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Administrative Fellowship

We are excited to announce that the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) will offer two administrative fellowship positions for the 2017-2018 fellowship cycle. UIHC, Iowa’s only academic medical center, is nationally ranked in several adult and pediatric specialties and is preparing for the December 2016 opening of the new University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. The fellowship is a one-year commitment with potential for an optional second-year dependent upon agreement between the fellow and the CEO.

The UIHC fellowship offers broad involvement, interaction, and exposure to the corporate operations of this nationally-ranked teaching hospital and health sciences campus. The position allows for a complete perspective of the organization, including its relationship with the UI Carver College of Medicine, UI Physicians, and the healthcare market.

The CEO of UIHC and Associate Vice President of University of Iowa Health Care, Kenneth Kates, acts as preceptor to the administrative fellow and determines, with the fellow, the content and goals of the fellowship. The fellow will have the opportunity to pursue meaningful projects and will have regular, ongoing interaction with the entire administrative team.

Fellowship applications are due on Friday, September 23, 2016. Phone interviews will be conducted with selected candidates in late September, and onsite interviews are scheduled for mid-October. The start date for the fellowship is scheduled for July 3, 2017 (negotiable).

Additional information about UIHC and the fellowship can be found at UIHC Administrative Fellowship and the ACHE Fellowship website. I’m also available to answer any questions you or your students may have.

Best,
Anna
