2017-2018 MD Anderson Administrative Fellowship

We are very excited to provide you with an overview of the Administrative Fellowship Program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. We know that Seton Hall University produces high quality MHA degree recipients who would greatly benefit from a fellowship experience at one of the world’s premiere cancer centers. The Administrative Fellowship offers each fellow an opportunity to learn about the organizational structure, philosophy, values, and mission of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage your students to apply for our 2017-2018 fellowship class. The MDACC Administrative Fellowship is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program that consists of operations-based rotations and a diverse set of projects tailored to the interests of each fellow. The primary aim of the fellowship is to offer early careerists an opportunity to develop their leadership style in the day-to-day operations of a large, academic medical center. Throughout the year-long program, fellows develop skills needed to excel as successful leaders in today’s health care environment.

The Administrative Fellowship Program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has been in existence for 22 years, making it one of the most well-established programs of its kind in the country. Since many former fellows currently occupy key areas of leadership at MD Anderson, the program is well-respected and widely recognized throughout the entire organization. Fellows begin with a formal rotation schedule where they become acquainted with the Senior Leadership Team and the institution’s clinical and research divisions. These rotations are a great orientation to MD Anderson, providing fellows with a foundation of institutional knowledge as they transition into project work. Fellows are encouraged to work hard, take advantage of opportunities to learn and develop, and select projects based on their areas of interest. John Bingham, the fellowship’s preceptor, is committed to providing each fellow with the best possible experience. He is one of many knowledgeable mentors to whom the fellows have access while at MDACC.

The deadline for applications is October 3, 2016. Application materials and instructions, as well as more information on our Fellowship Program, can be found on our website and on ACHE’s Directory of Fellowships.

Thank you for your time and interest in MD Anderson’s Administrative Fellowship Program. We look forward to this fall’s recruiting process and wish your students the best of luck. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

Sincerely,
