DULCE Meeting 10/23/2020

Minutes:

• Introduction from Dean Smith with a reflection on the Seton Hall President’s remarks earlier in the day discussing all of the good that as been done on campus despite all of the challenges that 2020 brings. It is easy to see all of the difficulties, but it is necessary to highlight everything that is positive that is happening as well.
• The Halloween Event with DULCE, PIPE, and Adelante was discussed as it had a large attendance and people who went enjoyed the presentations and student interaction.
• Dr. Edwards and Dean Smith reminded everyone that their emails are always open with questions/criticisms/compliments about the Diplo School, if students do not say anything it is hard to address any issues.
• Students had questions about online classes for the spring semester, and what the SHU online classes will look like. The faculty responses were that the next semester will look very similar to the Fall semester.
• The class schedule will be coming out soon, and some students had ideas for classes they wanted to run, Dr. Edwards mentioned that getting a petition is a good way to bring those to fruition.
• SGA senators and representatives discussed how DULCE can involve more freshman, and mentioned reaching out to freshman.
• Meeting participants set the goal of including more Graduate and Freshman members in DULCE meetings, to make sure that the club represents the diverse Diplomacy School.
