For our last SPLASH meeting, Dr. Cicero and Dr. Conners gave a workshop on problem behavior in the school system. The workshop cleared up several misconceptions of problem behavior and provided four possible functions behind some common problem behavior. The workshop also provides information on indirect assessments used to determine the functionality of the behavior and explains the contingencies behind creating an effective treatment plan.
The two assessments used were the MAS and FAST. Both assessments can taken by anyone who works with the child. Both are subjective and non time consuming
