Gaiety Theater

The former location of the Gaiety Theater. Acquired by Abe Minsky shortly after his split from his surviving brothers in 1932, it became the center of Abe’s attempt to present more “highbrow” entertainment than could be found in typical burlesque shows of the time.

I am doing research on the Minsky family and their burlesque empire. If you have any information on their various theatres I would appreciate it if you would get in touch with me.

The 3 mentioned above are of most interest, and I have found very little about them. I a, especially looking for images as well as descriptions and locations.

I have pointed to the research that I have done on the 41 Broadway theatres in New York and hope to do similar sites on the 12 theaters on 42nd St as well as the Minskys.

    I appreciate your time.
