Mary McAleer Balkun is co-chair of the Digital Humanities Committee at Seton Hall University. She is also Chairperson of the English department and Director of Faculty Development. Her scholarly interests include early American literature and culture, women’s travel narratives, and the uses of technology for teaching and learning. She is co-founder, with Marta Deyrup, of the New Jersey Digital Humanities Consortium. She has a Ph.D. in English from New York University and has published on early American literature, technology and pedagogy, and faculty governance.
