September 2016: Your HEGSA Stewards 2016-17

Kevin Majewski is a candidate for the Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy and is currently focused on completing his dissertation on labor market outcomes among recent college graduates. He entered the program in 2014 and has been fortunate to work alongside department faculty as the graduate assistant to the Higher Education and K-12 graduate program directors. In addition to his work at Seton Hall University, he also works for CPC Behavioral Healthcare and Monmouth University in Central New Jersey. He earned his M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Monmouth University, which has led to opportunities with educational institutions, government entities, and nonprofit organizations in both the New York and Tokyo metropolitan areas.

 

McKenna Schray is a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy student expected to take the qualifying exam this fall. She began the program in January 2015 after completing her B.A. and M.A. in Public Relations from Seton Hall. She recently transitioned from a graduate assistantship in Media Relations to a full-time administrator role with the College of Communication and the Arts focused on advising graduate students. Her ultimate goal is to become a public relations faculty member. Originally from Arizona, she met her husband, Frank, at Seton Hall and her little brother, Cole, is currently a sophomore at the University.

 

Stefanie Benson is a Ph.D. student in the Higher Education program, with a focus on Education Research, Assessment, and Program Evaluation. Stefanie is a full time high school biology teacher at Ramsey High School, and has been teaching in K-12 for 9 years. She has a bachelors in biology from the University of South Carolina and a masters in secondary science education from The Citadel. Stefanie’s ultimate goal is to work in a private education policy firm or for a state department of education using her research skills to help write effective K-20 legislation. When not studying or working, Stefanie enjoys travelling and watching movies with her husband of 9 years, Chris.

 

Brittany White is a Master’s student in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program. She began the program in 2015 after earning her Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing and a minor in Legal Studies in Business from Seton Hall in 2014. Brittany is currently a Graduate Assistant Freshman Mentor in the Freshman Studies department, and also interns in Academic Support Services for Student-athletes at the University. After completing her Master’s program, Brittany hopes to pursue her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy. When Brittany finds free time between working and studying, she enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and enjoying quality time with her friends and family.
