CONGRATULATIONS!

Dr. Ronald Brandt, alumni, recently presented “Why do Undergraduate Women as STEM Majors? A Study at Two Technological Universities” at the 2015 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition in Seattle, WA.

Judith Egan, doctoral candidate, was awarded as Faculty Teacher of the Year for the College of Nursing for the 2014-2015 Academic year. She was also selected to be a member to the panel of judges for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) at their standard setting meeting in Chicago this September. This meeting is where the standard for the passing rate for NCLEX-RN, the licensure exam for nursing, is set.

Dr. Li Guo, recent alumni, accepted a post as Associate Professor in the Department of Higher Education Research at Beihang University in Beijing, China.

John Irwin, doctoral student, recently co-published the following article:

Dr. Robert Kelchen recently presented the following:
“Examining Trends and Regional Cost Variations in Living Cost Allowances.” Presented at the Student Financial Aid Research Network conference, Indianapolis, IN.

“The Landscape of Competency-Based Education: Enrollment, Demographics, and Affordability.” Presented at the American Enterprise Institute, Washington, DC.

“Key Higher Education Act Reauthorization Proposals.” Presented for the Advisory Committee on Student Financial Assistance, Washington, DC.

“Covering College Costs.” Presented at the Investigative Reporters and Editors conference, Philadelphia, PA.

Jeff Levine, doctoral student, accepted an appointment as Associate Director of Enrollment Services at Texas A&M University at Galveston.  Enrollment Services includes undergraduate and graduate admissions, admissions processing, financial aid and the registrar. The island campus, located on the Gulf of Mexico, is a branch campus of College Station, with teaching and research focused on Marine Biology and the Maritime industry.

Daria Pizzuto, doctoral student, is the incoming Kappa Delta Pi chapter president at Seton Hall. Daria has presentations planned for the Fall semester at Seton Hall and three recent teacher development workshops at Bernards Township School District:
Dealing with VIPs (Very Involved Parents), Mindfulness in the Classroom, and Maximize Your Prep Time! (Time Management Strategies for Busy Teachers)

Dr. Joshua Wilkin, recent alumni, accepted the position of Associate Director for Campus Life at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island.
