KAPPA DELTA PI INDUCTION CEREMONY

On Sunday, April 19, 2015, several higher education graduate students were inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, Xi Gamma Chapter.

Congratulations to the following Seton Hall University Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs students who joined our local chapter of over 350 active members: Remlyn A. Gongob, Kelly A Freeman, and Sarah A. Andrews!

A total of 115 new members from the Department of Educational Studies, the Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy, & the Education Leadership and Management Department were inducted in 2015 at Seton Hall University.

The Xi Gamma Chapter has over 350 active members who range from upperclassmen, to graduate students to alumni from all different programs and areas of expertise under the College of Education and Human Services.  We have educators, principals, school, counseling, and clinical psychologists, health professionals, librarians, law enforcement officers, members of the FBI, and university faculty, to name a few.

KDP International Honor Society in Education, founded by Dr. William Bagley in 1911 at the University of Illinois, was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. The founders chose the name from the Greek words to represent knowledge, duty, and power. Pioneering from its beginning by including women as well as men, Kappa Delta Pi grew from a local chapter to the international organization it is today, comprising of 600 chapters and more than 40,000 members.

From its inception, KDP has been dedicated to scholarship and excellence. Through its programs, services, and products, KDP supports and enhances the professional growth and teaching practices of its member educators throughout the phases and levels of their teaching careers. This support is essential to inaugurating and retaining the best and brightest professionals in the field of education.
