Monthly Birds-of-a-Feather Session on Generative AI

Oct. 3, 10:00am – 10:45am, in Teams

The Center for Faculty Development and the Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center are pleased to host a joint monthly Teams meeting on the first Friday of each month to engage the community in meaningful conversations about generative AI. Each session will highlight topics drawn from faculty survey results, ensuring discussions remain relevant to faculty interests and needs. The agenda will follow a simple format—topic and speaker, discussion, and open Q&A—while the recording function will be turned off during open dialogue to encourage candid sharing of ideas, concerns, and experiences. The purpose of these meetings is to promote cross-departmental communication, collaboration, and transparency by keeping the community informed about ongoing AI initiatives. This forum is designed to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen awareness, and support innovation in AI practices across the institution.

In this first birds-of-a-feather meeting Dr. Viswa Viswanathan will demonstrate an AI-enabled app he has developed that is designed to help students sharpen their critical thinking skills. There will be time for Q&A, as well as an opportunity for attendees to share their general concerns, issues, and ideas for future sessions.
