Sara Fieldston: “Students as Curators: Exploring the Possibilities of a Virtual Museum”

This presentation will explore using WordPress to create a student-curated virtual museum. I’ll share a project I created with my American History I and II classes, the Virtual Museum of American History (http://blogs.shu.edu/americanhistory), and talk about the possibilities for a variety of learning experiences using this medium.

Anne Giblin-Gedacht:Instagram Essays

This presentation will explore the use of the Instagram format for student writing that takes advantage of their familiarity with this social media platform. (The assignments are actually done in WordPress). The goal is to foster engagement between course content and the students’ daily lives, while also addressing the course emphasis that everything has a history.

Tom McGee of the TLTC will talk about using WordPress for student assignments and projects, and show examples of work using the platform.
