A Time for Silence: SHU Meditates

Friday, May 8, 2020
12:15pm – 12:45pm
In Teams

In this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, sheltering in place, and great uncertainty, we invite you to give yourself the gift of deep silence in the company of our Seton Hall community of colleagues and friends.

Contemplative traditions throughout history and the world over attest to the power of silence to heal, to soothe, and to foster group unity and compassionate support. Among the many types of meditation practice, resting in silence provides an opportunity to find a place of rest and calm deep within ourselves.

This 30-minute meditation will begin with some brief instruction, leading into an extended period of silence in which we will together sink below the surface waves of our anxious and fearful thoughts and emotions to rest in the calm.
