Being sedentary increases cancer risk

Here is an interesting little piece that discusses exercise, sedentary lifestyle, and the risk of cancer… (see –  Sitting down for an extra two hours increases the risk of some cancers by 10%).

In a nutshell, an analysis of 43 studies, including over 4 million participants, as well as cancer patients, showed that DESPITE EXERCISE, every additional 2 hours of sitting can increase the risk of cancer up to 10%.

The authors warn that just because you exercise regularly, don’t think that you are protected, rather, MOVE around, like our ancestors moved around before computers and TV!

The “biology” behind this is that sitting in front of the television is associated with other bad behaviors related to obesity and nutrition.
