Three Minute Leadership: It’s All Your Decision
To: The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning
Mahatma Gandhi said: “I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet.” What a beautiful statement of the power of choice that great leaders hold! They realize that they can choose the impact of what the world and people around them have on them. Whether it be an insensitive word, someone’s negativity, a disappointment, they realize that they can choose if or how they will permit themselves to be impacted by those actions. Their happiness is in their hands, and they will not put this precious treasure in the hands of someone else.
Viktor Frankl wrote: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” In that brief instant of choice, great leaders remember the words of Walter Anderson: “Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself.” Become more than you ever dreamed you could be… and more… so much more. It is all in your hands. Life is so very good.
Have a beautiful day and a magnificent week!!!
