Three Minute Leadership: Your Words Can Change a Life Forever

To:  The Great Leaders Who Have a Passion for Continuous Learning

“You are only a stranger once. Put your hand out. Reach out to someone.  They may change your life.”  And “You must learn something new each and every day.”  These are among the many words of wisdom a friend’s mother had shared with him many years ago as she prepared him for his life’s journey.  They were the tools that etched his character and his life. They were her splendid gifts from which he benefitted as he achieved great success, happiness and significance in his life.

All great leaders have benefitted from wise sayings and quotes they have learned along the way. Those are the unforgettable words that they tucked away never to be lost. They spoke to what they value and hold sacred in their life. Perhaps it is one of the following:

“Be true to yourself. Make each day your masterpiece.”  John Wooden, legendary basketball coach

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”  Maya Angelou, author and poet

“It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.”  Henry David Thoreau, author

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Mahatma Gandhi, leader of Indian nationalism

“There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” Nelson Mandela, Nobel Prize winner

What are the words that shape your life?  What are the words that you give to others that they will serve to provide purpose, direction, focus and inspiration in shaping their life? Just as great leaders have benefitted from the wisdom and learning of others, it is their turn to give their gifts to others – words to remember, words to shape their life.  What are your words?

Click on this link and share your words. They may change someone’s life forever. They will be shared in a future Three Minute Leadership note. Please take care.

Have a beautiful day and a magnificent week!!!
