In his book, A Comfortable Situation, Kip Davis writes: “When we become comfortable, do you know what happens around us? Absolutely nothing. Each day becomes just like the one before. We do what we have always done, therefore we get what we have always gotten.”
It is seducing and easy to live in a comfort zone. It is the known, the obvious, the protected, the unchallenging, the safe and no failure. It is a stagnant world, a jail that controls us more than we do ourselves. Thomas Edison, inventor, said of it: “We shall have no better conditions in the future if we are satisfied with all those which we have at present.”
Great leaders embrace the words of author, Neale Donald Walsch: “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” Live life to its fullest, a remember Max DePree’s words: “We cannot become what we want to be by remaining what we are.” Be more than you ever dreamed you could be… and more… so much more.
