Miniya, I loved this presentation! As humans, we are made to be surrounded by other people. Taking that away from someone is inhumane and can cause many mental health problems that I think you highlighted very well. Great Job!
Very interesting discussion of solitary confinement and the value system that continues to support its use. I particularly liked your discussion of the Solitary Confinement Act of 2016. Unfortunately, it has limits and only addressed Federal, not state prisons. Great work and excellent connection to the Social Work and Society Grand Challenges.
