Asian American Hate Crimes Increased by 150%

The investigation delivered by the Middle for the Investigation of Disdain and Radicalism at California State College, San Bernardino, this month analyzed disdain violations in 16 of America’s biggest urban areas. It uncovered that while such violations in 2020 diminished generally by 7%, those focusing on Asian individuals rose by almost 150%.

Asian Americans Face An Increasing Number of Hate Crimes In the U.S.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring, Asian Americans throughout the United States have encountered hate crimes at a rate higher than that of previous years. Many people ascribe the 2020 surge of Asian American hate violence to the xenophobic commentary of former President Trump, referring to the COVID-19 as the “China virus” and “Kung flu” and blaming China for the global pandemic.
