The Accounting Club at Seton Hall University is a student organization open to all business majors and offers the chance to connect with different professionals and firms, explore diverse career paths, and gain valuable insights into key certifications such as the CPA exam. It provides an amazing opportunity for like-minded individuals who want exposure to careers in accounting. The Accounting Club also provides a foundation for members to enhance their skills and knowledge, as well as network with their peers. There are a variety of club events, including visits from public accounting firms and financial service firms that come to explain their career opportunities, and general social events are also offered in the club as well.

This month, the Accounting Club has an exciting lineup of events for students to attend. On October 7th, the club offered an insight session called “Senior Speaks.” This meeting offered a workshop where senior members of the Accounting Club spoke on insider information, LinkedIn strategies, networking tips, and ways to get more involved on campus. The session ended with a Q&A session where younger members had the opportunity to ask any questions about courses, clubs, or general career questions. On October 21st, professional leaders from BDO, one of the largest global accounting and advisory firms, are coming to speak to members of the Accounting Club and offer more information on its core services in assurance, tax, advisory/consulting, and business services and outsourcing. Additionally, BDO will offer information on internship opportunities available for students. This will be a very insightful event where students can connect with professionals from one of the largest global accounting and advisory firms.
The Accounting Club also has an active Instagram page, @setonhallaccountingclub, and an email chain where the president, Payton Costenbader, sends updates on club meetings and internship opportunities. The Instagram page helps members stay informed about upcoming events and provides recaps of each meeting. It is a great way to stay involved with the club and connect with peers. Students who are passionate about Accounting and networking should consider joining the Accounting Club at Seton Hall to receive valuable opportunities to learn about accounting skills and network with peers. Members not only gain valuable career insights but also develop friendships, teamwork skills, and confidence. The club truly helps students grow both personally and professionally throughout their time at Seton Hall. Don’t miss out, join the club and gain insights that will benefit your career in accounting!
