Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Administrative Fellowship

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you and your students of the Administrative Fellowship program at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. This fellowship may be of interest to students planning to pursue an administrative career in an integrated health system. Spartanburg Regional is now accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Fellowship.

Spartanburg Regional offers a unique combination of facilities, services, dedicated professionals, advanced technology, and specialized treatment options. The system includes Spartanburg Medical Center, a 540-bed research and teaching hospital; Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care, a 97-bed long term acute care hospital; the Medical Group of the Carolinas, a 320+ physician group covering 20 specialties throughout 7 counties in the Carolinas; the Regional Outpatient Center; Gibbs Cancer Center; Regional HealthPlus, a network of hospitals and physicians of every specialty; a separate campus that is home to Pelham Medical Center, a 48-bed acute care hospital, a Gibbs Cancer Center satellite location, and state-of-the-art surgery center; and a separate campus that is home to Union Medical Center. In 2014, Spartanburg Medical Center was named #1 hospital in South Carolina by U.S. News & World Report for the 2014-2015 year.

Previously, the Administrative Fellow has reported directly to the President of Spartanburg Medical Center and the Chief Operating Officer of the health system. The Administrative Fellow works closely with all members of executive leadership and administrative staff. The 1 year appointment will permit exposure to the highest levels of the organization and for the Fellow to train extensively in leadership. The program is designed to maximize the Fellow’s learning experience by facilitating work in areas of interest and allow for significant self-direction by the Fellow.

The application deadline is October 7, 2016 with a final selection announcement set for mid November 2016. Additional information and application requirements are provided.
