As part of the ongoing major exploration initiative and the expansion of the Peer Advisor program, the Center for Advising and Student Transitions (CAST) will utilize a graduate intern to assist with implementation and execution of its programmatic initiatives for undeclared freshmen and sophomore students.

Responsibilities for Spring Semester – January to May

  • General recruitment of students for the Peer Leader and Peer Advisor positions
  • Assist with development and updating of the Peer Leader and Peer Advisor applications
  • Participate in the marketing of the Peer programs – run information tables, information sessions, and program publications
  • Conduct  group and individual interview sessions in conjunction with CAST staff
  • Facilitate training activities in conjunction with the CAST staff

The Graduate Intern will report to the Associate Director of the Center and will work closely with the CAST staff. Additionally, the individual in this position should be able to interact in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a passion for working on student success and retention initiatives. Weekly hours 12 – 18 hours

    Graduate intern will assist with student success initiatives. Given the re-structuring of the College of Nursing over the last several months, and the new  initiatives designed to improve scores on the nursing licensing exam, it is a unique opportunity for a higher ed. graduate student to gain some insight into educational organization and student outcomes.

 Graduate Internship/Part-Time position (looking for 3-4 people).  The position will include overseeing projects for the Student Activities office from start to finish, working in a collaborative team environment, as well as hands-on work with students and student groups.
