Grants.gov (which is the electronic portal used to submit most federal grant applications) has phased-out the familiar “Legacy PDF Application Package” as the mechanism for submitting federal grant applications.  Instead, Grants.gov will require that grant applications be submitted using the Grants.gov “Workspace.”

No Legacy PDF Application Packages will be accepted after December 31, 2017.

In order for institutions who submit federal grant applications to become familiar with using Workspace, Grants.gov has provided a number of resources to help in this transition. Two of the most relevant resources are listed below:

  1. Video Webinar “Getting Started with Workspace” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXvoloYNkNQ
  2. Grants.gov “Workspace Overview” Web Page                   https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/applicants/workspace-overview.html

The Office of Grants and Research Services will continue to be your primary resource at Seton Hall University for any questions you may have about the Federal grant application submission process and this transition, so please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. We will also be providing additional information and guidance as the transition is being implemented.

We suggest that you view the above websites and allow extra time for application preparation and processing as this transition commences.
