This program provides grants of up to $10,000 for accounting research that fosters academic understanding of the contemporary external reporting and governance challenges faced by preparers. Topics can include, but are not limited to:
- Enhancing the credibility and information value of voluntary disclosures
- The role of accounting in governance
- The application of judgment and expertise in developing estimates in financial statements
- Strategic uses of financial reporting to reduce information asymmetries
- Preparing an informative Management’s Discussion and Analysis in compliance with SEC guidelines
