Sherrilee Moore is an international student and a candidate for a M.A in Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University. She is a language enthusiast, fluent in English, French, Spanish and Japanese. A quote by Former First-Lady Eleanor Roosevelt remains etched in her mind :”The purpose of life… is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.” With a profound background in education, she hopes to combine former experiences with the knowledge and skills she will acquire from her specializations which include International Organizations and Conflict Management and Resolution. It is one of her passions once she graduates, to implement Language Immersion Programs for high school students in her country, Trinidad and Tobago. It is important that young people develop an eagerness to explore the world and be exposed to different cultures and peoples which will in turn foster tolerance, respect and peace. This is because though valuable, there is more to a country than just it’s language . As such, the need to interact and understand a culture and its people was paramount and thus, its absence would have far-reaching ramifications. She strongly believes that promoting the importance of world understanding constitutes the first step to improving living conditions of people throughout the world.
