Writing Across the Curriculum/AI Talk and CFP for Summer Workshop
On Thursday, April 16, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, in Bethany B/C and via Teams, Dr. Annette Vee, Associate Professor of English and Director of the Composition Program at the University of Pittsburgh, will speak about “AI-Aware Teaching.” Dr. Vee will look at current data on how students actually use AI, explore examples of AI capabilities relevant to writing-intensive classes, and discuss practical ways to adapt assignments in light of these shifts. Come with your questions about AI and assigning writing-intensive projects. See the attached flyer for more information.
We hope that this talk will whet your appetite such that you will consider applying to the three-day summer workshop, “Teaching writing is still possible: a SHU Academy WAC/AI workshop,” scheduled for May 26, May 27, and May 28, 2026, 9am – 3pm. See WAC-AI Workshop CFP 2026 for information. The deadline for applications is April 27. 2026.
