Learn how to use social media to expand the audience for your research.
In this interactive presentation, Dr. Kelly Farquharson, Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology and Director of the Children Literacy and Speech Sound Lab at Florida State University, will demonstrate how social media can be used to bring research to life. Dr. Farquharson runs an active Instagram account with over 18,000 followers. She will discuss several available social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and ways that researchers can access their target audience. Researchers/ faculty will be asked to consider what their niche area and target audience might be. Brainstorming time will allow attendees to consider what kind of information they would find beneficial if presented on social media as well as what kind of information they might be able to share.
