SHU as a Contemplative Learning Community

February 18th, 12:00-1:30pm

Faculty Lounge

From mindfulness to meditation, the use of contemplative practices is becoming of increasing interest in higher education. Studies have shown that incorporating contemplative practices into their lives and into their classrooms can help faculty manage their own stress and help students with theirs as well.

In this workshop, faculty from a variety of disciplines and at various stages in their engagement with contemplative practices and contemplative pedagogy will share their strategies and consider the following questions:

What would a contemplative learning environment at Seton Hall look like?

What would be the benefits to the university community, and especially to our students?

Light refreshments will be served.
