You can use your Android phone or table to manage your blog. WordPress for Android can be downloaded and installed from the Android Market.
Once you’ve got it, use the simple setup instructions to point it at the URL of your blog, put in your username and password, and connect. You can add as many blogs as you have, whether they’re in WordPress.com, self-hosted, or hosted here at TLTC.
You can post and edit pages, moderate comments, work with categories and tags. What I found to be the coolest feature was it integrates with the device’s built-in camera. So in addition to be able to upload or link to an image or video, you can take a new one. For blogging on the go, what could be better?
It also gives you the usual top-bar notice when there’s a comment to be moderated, which is helpful. You can do it all from one place.
Other versions are also available: WordPress for BlackBerry, WordPress for iOS and WordPress for Nokia.
I have both android and iPhone. I just got the iPhone version. Is there an android version available?
Yes, there is.
I used WordPress for Android, but it did not work very well at all. I think they still have much to improve.
Can you make an app for Bada OS too ?
I have used the wordpress android on my cell…it got crashed first few times…but after the second update its working fine…Any body have any idea why..I have 2.3 gingerbread…
Why didn’t look into this before? This will make my phone even more indispensable to me. I’m usually away from home when I think up my best posts and then forget when I get home. 🙂
I installed this based on your review in this post. The camera integration is absolutely awesome. Using this app I can put my android to work for me. Thanks for the heads up.
I have been using Blogger for Android for my Blogger site but have been wanting to switch over to WordPress. This is great news!! Thank you!!
