We’ve added two new themes for you to work with.
Clean Retina is “a Simple, Clean and Responsive Retina Ready WordPress Theme which adapts automatically to your tablets and mobile devices.”
It has lots of theme options so you can customize, including nine home page layouts, five post layouts, a featured slider, social icons, webmaster tools, custom backgrounds, headers, menus, and more.
silverOrchid works like the popular Arras theme (used by GHG, Switched On, IME and others) for magazine-style and news sites.
To use any of these, just go to your Appearance::Themes dashboard panel and run the preview. Most customizations aren’t available until you activate it; but you can always roll back to your current theme if you don’t like it.
Tom, I enjoyed this post. I used Clear Retina a few months ago and its a fine theme. However I ultimately chose iFeature5, a free theme, because it offers so much more flexibility (I should say, simple flexibility) that users of any level can use.
Clear Retina has a lot of features, but in my opinion they simply aren’t as user friendly. I’ve heard of SilverOrchid but never tried it. I have quite a few blogs and I think I’ll give it a go just to see how it functions.
Hi Cassidy, specifically what issues did you have? I really like the theme and wanted to use it on one of my sites so any points will help.
Regards
Old Timer
I have worked with silverOrchid before but I had to eventually change it back to my old one as I continued to have technical issues with it.
