We like this new guide at Edudemic, which covers all of the basics and a lot of the more advanced things you’ll need to know to effectively run your WordPress blog.
It explains what you’re seeing when you look at the admin screen, the difference between posts and pages, how to add different kinds of media, and how to organize your images into a gallery.
Along the way it spells out the special fields at the bottom of your screen, and the meaning of all those boxes in the right column — so you can use tags and categories more effectively. You’ll also want to know how to build menus, and how to use widgets to make the perfect right-hand column for your readers.
I have been using the WordPress platform for the last 5 years, and I have nothing but great things to say about the platform. Aside from the fact that it is extremely intuitive, is so easy on SEO, has some amazing plugins available, it also has a very involved community of developers. This CMS will only get better and better.
Thanks for the tip on Edudemic.com by the way. It’s always good to keep educating yourself constantly when it comes to WP.
Cheers,
Josh
