Jennifer Rivera-Rincon Announced New Buccino Scholar Recipient!

Recently, the 2021 Buccino Scholarship nomination and selection process has been completed. Five students are nominated by Dr. Gerald Buccino, who encompass the qualities and academic achievements that he looks for. This year’s Leadership Class of 2021 nominees for this prestigious award were Brooke Harrington, Panayioti Logothetis, Surya Makkar, Jennifer Rivera-Rincón, and Leigh Ann Rofrano.

Dr. Buccino’s praise for the nominees is captured in his words: “These five outstanding and exceptional students are role-model representatives of all of our incredibly talented and gifted Leadership students and alumni. They are highly committed and focused on achieving their greatest potential in their professional and personal lives while selflessly serving others to achieve theirs.” Dr. Buccino complimented the nominees for their academic excellence and unique gifts and talents. They represent the Buccino Center’s, the Stillman School’s and Seton Hall’s highest standards and values of academic, leadership and performance excellence. Dr. Buccino awarded this year’s Buccino Scholarship to Jennifer Rivera-Rincón. Jennifer was honored the following Saturday at a luncheon.

Jen Rivera is a freshman in the program, from Old Bridge New Jersey. Her major is marketing and I.T., and she would also like to pursue a certificate in data analytics. Ideally, Jen would love to work in a company looking at big data and doing data analytics to find a problem that needs help, and then implement a marketing plan to address the issue. On campus, Jen works as a Student Technology Assistant in Space 154, where she helps other students with any tech problems they have, along with creating, converting, and editing files with 3D software. She also shows students how to do some of the fun games in Space 154, like virtual reality. If Jen isn’t studying in the library or working, she is probably making her friends laugh or brightening someone’s day.

Upon hearing about Jen’s recent honor, everyone in the program was incredibly happy for her, and agrees that she really deserved it. The Leadership Development Honors Program is proud to honor Jennifer Rivera-Rincon as the 2018 Buccino Scholarship Recipient!
